Advertisement for the Post of MANAGING DIRECTOR, APGCL & AEGCL, ASSAM
The Government of Assam, PowerDepartment, invites application from persons with outstanding professional
qualification having at least 20 (Twenty) years of relevant experience and
proven managerial and leadership quality for the post of Managing Director,
Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited and Assam Electricity Grid
Corporation Limited to manage the affairs of the Company as its Chief Executive
Officer.
The Managing
Director will be accountable to the Board of Directors and the Government of
Assam. He/she will be responsible for day to day operation, taking up
administrative measures for efficient and effective functioning of the Company
for achieving the corporate objectives and performance parameters. The Managing
Director will also be responsible for advance planning for Company's
sustainable growth, capacity augmentation and modernization of the grid and
transmission network besides expeditious and time bound project implementation
for making the state self reliant in power generation.
1. Qualification and Experience:The candidate should have a minimum qualification of a graduate from a
recognized University with good academic record and adequate experience at a
senior level of management in reputed organization in the Power Sector. He /
She should have a proven track record of performance in design, planning,
project implementation and administrative function for a minimum period of 20
(twenty) years. Persons with Technical / Engineering /Post Graduate Management
Qualifications (MBA or PGDM from Government recognised University / Institution)
having excellent & proven track record with experience in the fields of Financial
Management, HR, Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Technical Services and Public
Administration will have added advantage. The Company is looking for a
candidate having leadership quality to lead the Company motivating all
employees to achieve high standards in performance.
2. Government Officers not below
the rank of Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam or its equivalent
rank with adequate experience in the relevant field will be eligible.
3. Candidates from private
sector, CPSU and State Government Undertaking in the rank of General Manager
and above will also be eligible to apply for the above post.
The minimum age of the
applicant should not be less than 50 (Fifty) years but not above 56 Years on
the date of publication of the advertisement. The upper age limit is relaxable
by another one year for the in-house candidate of three power sector Companies
of the State.
Tenure of Appointment /
Extension: Subject to the terms and conditions issued by Government of Assam
the tenure of appointment will be for a period of 3 (three) years or up to the
date of superannuation as per Government of Assam rules, which ever is earlier.
However, in exceptional cases the extension of service on contract basis may
also be considered up to a maximum permissible age limit within the provisions
of the Companies Act, 2013, subject to assessment of performance of the
incumbent. The selected candidate must join the assignment within 30 (Thirty)
days from the date of issue of the appointment letter failing which the
appointment letter will stand cancelled automatically and the State Government
will be free to take next course of action.
While the
salary is negotiable for the deserving candidate, the present basic pay is
fixed at Rs.55,000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand only) per month (without grade pay)
as per RoP-2010 plus other allowances admissible as per the Company’s Rules.
Candidate fulfilling the above
criteria may apply (Through their present employer, if employed in Government /
Semi-Government / State & Central PSUs or with No-objection Certificate)
within 15 (Fifteen) days from the date of publication of this advertisement
along with a colour photograph and self attested copies of Certificates and
Testimonials with particulars on home & present address, date of birth,
present age, qualification (s), details of working experiences, present emoluments
drawn and name, address & telephone number etc. of present employer. The
candidate is also required to furnish a Self-Certificate that he / she is not
implicated / adjudicated in any litigation by any Hon’ble Court (s) or pending
before the Court (s) or any vigilance case pending against him / her. Candidate
canvassing directly or indirectly for selection / appointment to the post, his
/ her candidature will summarily be rejected without assigning any reason.
The shortlisted applicants
fulfilling above criteria will be called to appear before the Public
Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
