A festival to be organized across 21 districts in Assam from 31st March to 4th April 2017 .  Namami About Namami Brahmaputra Brahmaputra , which means “Obeisance to the Brahmaputra” , will showcase the beauty and glory of the mighty river and the land it flows through. It will also help to highlight Assam’s potential in the global platform, bringing economic opportunities and development .  According to Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, “Brahmaputra is our culture, civilization, economy and lifeline.”   The festival will promote the Brahmaputra as a tourist attraction. Namami Brahmaputra will promote it in a bigger way. There are more than 2,300 islands in the river and visitors will have the unique experience of seeing them first-hand.

Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY)'s Last Date for Registration is 15th March 2017

Ministry of External Affairs organizes this Yatra during June to September each year through two different routes - Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand), Nathu La Pass (Sikkim). Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY) is known for its religious value, cultural significance. It is undertaken by hundreds of people every year. Holding significance for Hindus as the abode of Lord Shiva, it holds religious importance also for the Jains and the Buddhists. It is open to eligible Indian citizens, holding valid Indian passports, who wish to proceed to Kailash-Manasarovar for religious purposes. Ministry of External Affairs does not provide any subsidy or financial assistance to Yatris. Yatris need to spend 3 or 4 days in Delhi for preparations and medical tests before starting the Yatra. Delhi Government arranges common boarding and lodging facilities free of cost for Yatris only. Yatris are at liberty to make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging in Delhi. The applicant may do
