Namami About Namami Brahmaputra Brahmaputra , which means “Obeisance to the Brahmaputra” , will showcase the beauty and glory of the mighty river and the land it flows through. It will also help to highlight Assam’s potential in the global platform, bringing economic opportunities and development . According to Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, “Brahmaputra is our culture, civilization, economy and lifeline.” The festival will promote the Brahmaputra as a tourist attraction. Namami Brahmaputra will promote it in a bigger way. There are more than 2,300 islands in the river and visitors will have the unique experience of seeing them first-hand.
