PRAGATI


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, chaired his nineteenth interaction through PRAGATI - the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation on dated 24th May 2017.

The Prime Minister reviewed the progress towards handling and resolution of grievances related to postal services. He asserted that the importance of postal services is on the rise again. He sought to know what changes have been made in procedures, and what action has been taken against officers responsible for lapses. He stressed on the importance of human resource management, systemic improvement, and infrastructure strengthening in the Department of Posts.



The Prime Minister reviewed the progress of vital infrastructure projects in the railway, road and power sectors, spread over several states including Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Prime Minister comprehensively reviewed the “Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems” (CCTNS). He urged the States to accord high priority to this network, so that maximum benefit could be taken from it, in the interest of law and order, and bringing criminals to justice.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released an Architecture and Specification document for the Nation Wide WI-Fi Network named “Public Wifi Pilot” on dated 7 th July 2017. Through the scheme TRAI lays down the foundation for setting up nationwide public wifi network. TRAI aims to set up large number of public wifi hotspots across the country. Payments towards Tax, Penalty, Surcharge and Deposit under PMGKY 2016 in Old Demonetised Currency allowed till 30th December, 2016.

The Central Government has decided that up to 30.12.2016,  the payment towards tax, surcharge, penalty and deposit under the  PradhanMantri Garib KalyanYojana (PMGKY) , can be made in Old Bank Notes of Rs. 500 and Rs.1,000 denomination issued by the RBI. The Taxation and Investment Regime for Pradhan Mantri Garib KalyanYojana ( PMGKY ), 2016 has commenced on 17 th  December, 2016 and is open for declarations upto 31 st  March, 2017. The payment of tax, surcharge and penalty under the Scheme is to be made through challan ITNS- 287 and the deposits are to be made in the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme,2016.
