Government of India initiates the documents digitization of any type of organizations. DIP or Digitize India Platform (DIP) is an initiative of the Government of India under the Digital India Programme to provide digitization services for scanned document images or physical documents for any organization. The aim is to digitize and make usable all the existing content in different formats and media, languages, digitize and create data extracts for document management, IT applications and records management.
DIP provides an innovative solution by combining machine intelligence and a cost effective crowd sourcing model. It features a secure and automated platform for processing and extracting relevant data from document images in a format that is usable for meta-data tagging, IT application processing and analysis.

₹ 8,44,982 crore of amount exchanged/deposited from November 10, 2016 to November 27, 2016

Consequent to the announcement of withdrawal of legal tender status of banknotes of ₹ 500 and ₹1000 denominations from the midnight of November 8, 2016, the Reserve Bank of India made arrangements for exchange and/or deposit of such notes at the counters of the Reserve Bank and commercial banks, Regional Rural banks and Urban Cooperative Banks. Such exchange/deposits effected from November 10, 2016 upto November 27, 2016 amounted to ₹ 8,44,982 crore (exchange amounted to ₹ 33,948 crore and deposits amounted to ₹ 8,11,033 crore) as in RBI's press release. It is also stated that the public have withdrawn, during this period, ₹ 2,16,617 crore from their accounts either over the counter or through ATMs.

Diabetes is on the rise from urban to rural people due to lack of healthy life style. China, India and USA are among the top three countries with a high number of diabetic population. While the numbers climbed from 20.4 million in China in 1980 to 102.9 million in 2014, the rise has been equally dramatic in India from 11.9 million in 1980 to 64.5 million in India. Prevalence of diabetes has more than doubled for men in India and China (3.7 per cent to 9.1 per cent in India and 3.5 per cent to 9.9 per cent in China). Common counselling at State level for admission to medical courses at UG and PG levels

In a landmark decision, following the introduction of single medical entrance exam in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfarehas now made provision for common counselling at the State level for admissionto medical courses at the under graduate and post graduate levels. As per the amendments made in the relevant regulations of MCI, the designated authority at the State/UT level shall conduct common counselling for all medical education institutions in the State whether established by the Central Government, State Government, University, Deemed University, Trust, Society, Company, Minority Institutions or Corporation.
