Public Wifi Hotspot across India

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released an Architecture and Specification document for the Nation Wide WI-Fi Network named “Public Wifi Pilot” on dated 7th July 2017. Through the scheme TRAI lays down the foundation for setting up nationwide public wifi network. TRAI aims to set up large number of public wifi hotspots across the country.

This network architecture is built around an Open Architecture based Wifi Access Network Interface (WANI) that facilitates partition of public data office (PDO) provides, access point hardware/software providers, application providers etc.
