Flood in Assam: Situation is grime


Flood situation in Assam is still grim as it is stated in Assam State Disaster Management Authority's Flood Report as on 17th July, 2017

Rivers flowing above Danger Level are-

1) Brahmaputra
2) Dhansiri
3) Barak
4) Katakhal &
5) Kushiyara

Total 7,64,750 no's of population hit by the flood till now from 17 no’s of districts in the state. 49 no's of Revenue Circle, 1102 no's of Village, 40,799.48 hect. Crop Area affected by flood as per the report. Name of the Districts affected by flood are-

  2. Lakhimpur
  3. Biswanath
  4. Nalbari
  5. Barpeta
  6. Bongaigaon
  7. Chirang
  8. Dhubri
  9. South Salmara
  10. Goalpara
  11. Morigaon
  12. Nagaon
  13. Golaghat
  14. Jorhat
  15. Sivasagar
  16. Karimganj &
  17. Cachar

256 no's of Relief Camps are opened by the Government of Assam where 18,931 inmates. Due to flood 05 no’s (Morigaon-03, Goalpara-01, Golaghat-01) of people died as per record. 2,83,707 Animal affected & Government distributed relief amonst the flood affected people 705.25 Q Rice, 188.13 Q Dal, 56.27 Q Salt, 630.07 L Mustard Oil & Other items Tarpaulin, Candle, Cattle Feed, Chira, Gur, Wheat Bran, Halozen, Tab, Bleaching Powder, Chlorine Tab, Water Purifying Tab, Chemical Pkt. Etc. Rescue operation is on going with the help of NDRF, SDRF, CRPF, Indian Army, Police, Forest Police, R. C. Administration and local people.
