VACANCY DETAILS:

A) (Vacancy No. 17030501611) Ten Assistant Engineer Grade-I, Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines,

Of the ten posts, one post is reserved and suitable for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Hearing Impairment Partially Deaf (PD). All the posts are permanent.

PAY SCALE : Level- 9 (Pre-revised PB-2: Rs. 9,300 - 34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4,800). General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

Age: 30 yrs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

• EDUCATIONAL: Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) or Engineering Degree in Mining or Mechanical or Drilling from a recognized University.

DUTIES:

1. Full administrative and technical control of drill unit as a camp-in-charge;
2. Optimum judicious utilization of machineries and equipment to achieve the required productivity. Maintenance, repair and upkeep of machinery and vehicle;
3. Effective and day to day supervision of drilling operation;
4. Planning of drilling inventories, raising of indents and proper maintenance of stores and accounts;
5. Provisioning of daily requirements like POL, bits, mud etc. for execution of uninterrupted shift operation;
6. Adequate and proper deployment of the personnel in the unit;
7. Initiate survey reports for unserviceable stores and those list in the boreholes;
8. Report accidents, losses, thefts and natural calamity etc. to Headquarters and take necessary corrective measures to ensure safety and security of the staff and government property in the camp;
9. Preparation of drilling reports/returns and timely submission to Headquarter;
10. Liaison with field Geologist for borehole allotment/ closure, logging etc. and local authorities for smooth drilling operation and
11. Maintenance of field vehicle, road tax payment, fitness certificate and initiate indent for vehicle spares etc. HQ: Kolkata with all India service liability.

ANY OTHER CONDITIONS: Every appointee on his/ her 1st appointment in Geological Survey of India shall have to successfully complete the induction or orientation training conducted by Geological Survey of India Training Institute.

B) (Vacancy No.17030502211) Five Junior Analyst (Technical), Department of Science andTechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology

Of the five posts, one post is reserved and suitable for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy with Both legs affected but not arms (BL) or One leg affected (Right or Left) (OL). The post is also suitable for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Blindness or Low Vision or Partially Blind (PB) or Hearing Impairment Partially Deaf (PD). All the posts are permanent.

PAY SCALE : Rs.9,300-34,800/- ( PB-2) + Rs. 4,600/- (Grade Pay). As per 7th CPC:- Level 7 in the Pay Matrix. General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

Age: 30 yrs.

QUALIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL:

• EDUCATIONAL: Master's Degree in Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Degree in Engineering or Technology of a recognized University or equivalent*. (*Since the Department does not have the list of equivalent subjects (qualifications), same may be treated as NIL).

• EXPERIENCE: Two years' experience of scrutiny and analysis of proposals or programmes related to development of Science and Technology and monitoring their implementation from Central or State Government organisations and Research and Development organizations in Public and Private Sectors.

DUTIES: To render assistance in the implementation of programmes and to make preliminary analysis & scrutiny of proposals programmes / projects etc. HQ: New Delhi but liable to serve anywhere in India.

However, such candidates will be considered for selection to such post by general standard of merit. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of reservation and other relaxations as permissible under the rules. Thus, Physically Handicapped (PH) persons can avail benefit of :
